origami cranes, sardines

hi we’re at our tenth email, yay consistency!

I made 48 origami cranes and hung them from the frame of an old lampshade. also tied tiny bells at the bottom because why not

hanging in its new home in my room. I really enjoy the shadows they cast

in other news,

ate savoury crepes. and also chips. both were delicious. and they came with a little chocolate with a poodle on it. perfect meal. haha crepe chip chocolate, alliterative lunch

I cannot afford this smeg porcelain kitchen appliance set but I can stare at it in the shop and dream

this toaster is so beautiful but so expensive

the flowers on this bush did not come with platitudes but they are alive which I think might be even more important

today is an auspicious day because there were four sardines in the tin instead of the usual three

was very tempted by this tinned fish display. I’m a big appreciator of good packaging design and these are so beautiful

I have eaten this combo twice this week. chicken abalone flavour instant noodles, plus sardines in oil with green peppercorn, and a squeeze of lemon. when I write it out like that it sounds cursed and unappetising. but my mum agreed it tasted good so it isn’t just me

I have a sardine problem I can’t stop eating them please help

my tinned fish obsession extends to tuna. which I eat from the can like a cat

I didn’t finish any books again this week. I’m reading lolita and it’s a masterpiece, but also uncomfortable and hard to get through

music

some songs I have on repeat:

  • hammond song - the roches
    I’m a sucker for three part harmony, but this song is truly special. the way they sing it is so unique – in full voice, like they’re almost yelling at you – but because they’re sisters they still blend flawlessly. and then the electric guitar comes in!

  • bad girls - blood orange
    sooooo funky. also solange did a cover of it, so it’s beyonce-family approved

  • weird little birthday girl - happyness
    this song reminds me of the time I went to this girl’s birthday party, and at the end as a party favour she gave us all betta fish. giving someone an unsolicited live animal is a weird thing to do. so then I had to go to the fish store to get it food and stuff. this song probably wasn’t on the radio because it wasn’t out yet in 2012. but if it were, this is what would have been playing in there. I named the fish CuSO4.5H2O (because he was blue. I was a nerd child) but called him cooper for short
