two songs for spring
hello this week I’m taking a break from the regularly scheduled poem+art programming to instead give you two songs I made!
I know from my analytics that you guys really don’t like clicking on my links. but please listen to them they’re quite good and I even changed outfits in between filming them <3<3
spring in my soul
I wrote this one last year when I was actually living in a place with seasons and so excited at the prospect of warmth. now that I’m in singapore I would appreciate it if it were a little less warm. grass is always greener.
meet me by the maple tree
email list OGs may remember these maple syrupy lyrics from museletter #2. now I’ve made them a melody! I think they were meant to be a song all along.
in other news,
![]() I made these beans they were so good. ingredients include beans, miso, coconut cream, spinch, dill, lemon, fenugreek. the fenugreek was a diversion from the written recipe but I stand by it ![]() biiig smoothie. shlurp. I recommend blending a little cardamom into your berry smoothies | ![]() I bought myself some supermarket flowers and some of the tops broke off in transit on the walk home. so I put them in a tiny vase and I love them spring rolls for spring hahahaha. also blue barley drink. the blueness didn’t add anything to the flavour |
music
some songs I have on repeat:
espresso - sabrina carpenter
song of the summer came a season early. been listening to this dozens of times a day I’m addictedflames shards goo - ml burch
best title award. and luscious guitars. and the lyrics start with the word ‘ooh’ (iykyk)they say it’s spring - blossom dearie
an old timey jazzy jingle about falling in love in springadditionally here is my playlist of choral/folky springtime music for all your frolicking / reading in the burgeoning sunshine needs
books
started two books this week and haven’t finished either of them yet. that’s because I was busy rotting my brain binge watching all three seasons of emily in paris. whoops
as always you can reply directly to this email and please do so if you have any inclination :)
tell me what you’d like to see in these emails! should I keep sending you music occasionally or stick to visual art? would you like a recipe segment or a joke of the week? let me know
