loon loom

ello!

the other day I read this essay from cj the x and it inspired me to divest from social media and start an email list. the handful of newsletters that I’m subscribed to bring me great joy so I thought I would contribute to that. welcome to my new internet playground!

loon loom

baboon on the moon
a lunar lemur loner
plays the lyre
plucks the lute
pipes the flute
fluently fluidly
floats flits flies
falls down to the ground (crash!)
limbs and loins
tangle in the loam
mangle in the tomb

dead as a doornail
limescale fishtail
interlocking leaves
wefts warps weaves
heel bleeds
hoof cleaves

loon loom

in other news,

lately my go-to lunch has been gnocci in tomato soup

hung eucalyptus in my shower, it smells lovely, would recommend

made some potions

I have a lot of bugs in my room. such are the consequences of keeping houseplants. there are gnats in my face all the time. I have repotted all my plants and there are still gnats. help.

books

this week I read:

winter in sokcho - elisa shua dusapin
this book was a lovely cosy read, but very unsatisfying. it ended completely open and never resolved at all and I need closure. cry count: 0

paper boat paper bird - david almond
a childrens book by my favourite author, and illustrated by kirsti beautyman. it was wholesome. you may have read his most famous book, skellig; this story continues the journey of mina, this time in japan. cry count: 1

both of these books had pink spines which was pleasing to me.

music

some songs I have on repeat:

(hehe kacy has bugs on her face just like me)

as well as the new ariana grande album obvs. last time she dropped an album (four years ago wow!) I started working out every day just for an excuse to listen to it again. so far this album has not had the same results — not due to any fault of ariana’s, only my own indolence.

this was a random assortment of updates. let me know what you’d actually like to see in here because I don’t know what I’m doing! you can reply directly to this email.
